Restoration project plan
The restoration project has been broken up into the following key areas of activity:
Rolling chassis
Primary objective of the restoration plan. Comprises: frame, cylinders, valve chests, wheels, bearings, motion, pony truck frames and brake rigging.
Platework
Platework components may be built as side projects. Major platework components include: cab, bunker, tanks and running boards.
Appliances
Appliances may be assembled, overhauled and stored pending fitting to the locomotive. Major system groups include: Westinghouse brake, lubrication, water injection, lighting, speedometer, blower and sanding systems.
Boiler
Major component of a steam locomotive, but can be treated as a replacable item. The boiler ought to be timetabled once other components are substantially completed.
