Progress to date
Progress has been intermittant, often halted by the weather as the locomotives are stored outside.
- Both boilers have been cleaned down, de-tubed and removed from the frames.
- Wheels have been removed from the frames;
- Frame of Wb 299 has been stripped of all components excepting the cylinders.
- Rear plate frames have been unbolted from the bar frames, irrevocably corroded and twisted.
- An attempt has been made to straighten the frame.
